In the article "Going the Look, But Risking Discrimination; by Steven Greenhouse" the author states that "Some companies have been skirting the edges of anti- discrimination laws," this phrase means that companies are not necessarily breaking the law, but are on the verge of doing so. Greenhouse mentions that companies are hiring people based on looks, and not by actual work experience. On one hand business owners look at this as a marketing strategy, on the other hand people see this the same way as being discriminated based on sex, race, or religion.
